Ormiston Mining and Smelting Part 3
One of about 5 or 6 houses
One of the houses was full of old records from the 40s and 50s
Remains of one of the bathrooms in a smaller house.
One house was considerably bigger than the rest. This appeared to be used for the single workers. Reminded me of a boarding house.
Timeslip
Fireplace in the Owner's house
One of the shop areas.
Another shed full of parts.
Bags of something used in the processing. There was one of these hanging on a hoist in the plant.
The hook room again
The last few were taking on our only night trip. It was in late October 2008 and it was very windy and cold. This was
shot with a 10mm lens and the flash isn't wide enough to cover the focal length so you get this vignetting.
Lathe in the machine shop area
Arilem and another tourist explorer. The type of explorer that convinces you that they are as into it as you are
then once you show them a few sites you never hear from them again.
Kitchen in the boarding house.
Bathroom
The most decayed roll of toilet paper I have ever seen.
November 2009 - demo is almost complete.
Sign for the mine.
